Facebook has recently bought the famous VR games developer
Sanzaru Games, taking another step forward in the world of Virtual Reality.
Sanzaru Games has put forward a number of popular games
including the widely loved VR fantasy and adventure fueled Asgard’s Warth.
Facebook has said that after the success of Asgard’s Warth,
the social media platform will be joining hands with Sanzaru Games to put
forward more ‘rich’, ‘immersive’ and ‘original’ VR game content.
The news of acquisition came shortly after Facebook acquired
‘Beat Games’ – another VR game developer. Facebook’s acquisition of game makers
that have developed successful VR games shows how much the company is inclined
towards VR.
While AR still remains relevant, Facebook’s breakthrough in
VR can be a huge win for Mark Zuckerberg. And we won’t have to wait for long
for this, given the decreasing costs of virtual reality headsets and
introduction of innovations like hand-tracking to make VR equipment simpler, VR
is set to become more common this year.
And Facebook appears to lead in this domain along with
Oculus.
"We’re exploring many ways to accelerate VR, and 2020
is going to be an incredible year for VR game launches and announcements. We
are thrilled to have Sanzaru joining our team. This is just one of the many
amazing VR announcements we have in store this year," says Facebook.
This isn’t just news for VR game enthusiasts but for marketers
as well, the space is definitely worth keeping an eye on!
