As avid users, we all have a strong preference for one
company’s product over another. Whether it’s our personal care items like toothpaste
and shampoo or a fashion apparel brand – we usually go for the brands that have
proven fruitful to us over the years.
Recently, marketing agency MBLM conducted an
interesting study – titled ‘Brand Intimacy Study’ in this regard, where they
surveyed Americans and queried about the brands that they simply can’t live
without.
Tech giant Google topped the list with around 41% of users
claiming that they can’t live without its products and services. Apple and Amazon
followed close behind with 33% loyal users. Video streaming app, YouTube became
more prominent in the eyes of users by landing on the sixth position from rank
ten last year.
Other companies that made the cut included digital music
service provide Spotify, car maker Chevrolet and Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft,
AT&T, Facebook, and Head & Shoulders. Leading chain of department and
grocery store Walmart was also part of the list for being one of the only
source of fresh groceries in some parts of the United States.
Notably, beverage companies like Coca-Cola were missed in
the top-12 list and dropped down from its number 4 position last year to rank 17
in 2020. This potentially highlights American’s preference for healthier
options, especially with obesity on the rise.
