A 2019 report published by the Federal Communications Commission
found that around 21.3 million U.S. residents don’t have access to a broadband connection.
However, BroadbrandNow released its own survey recently, where they revealed
that the actual numbers are significantly higher. In fact, they estimate that
approximately 42.8 million Americans are not connected via high-speed internet
connection.
BroadbandNow
helps Americans search for internet service providers in their respective
areas. They conducted a search of 11,000 addresses manually and claimed that around
4.17 million residents of Texas lack a high-speed internet connection. The Golden
State California has the second-highest number of Americans without fixed
broadband access while Arizona falls in third place.
Check out the graph below to see an astonishing number of Americans
that are deprived of proper internet connection in the year 2020.
