Adam Sandler and
Jennifer Aniston's "Murder Mystery" holds the top spot with
"Strangers Things" on the second. While the recent hot release
"The Witcher" stands in sixth place.
Netflix
will lose widely watched shows like “The Office” and “Friends” in the next two
years to its competitors, while Disney will also take down its content as it is
about to launch its own streaming platform Disney+, which according to the mass
media company got over 10 million sign-ups on the first day of its launch. This
could push Netflix to invest more in its original content to keep its
subscribers hooked.
Even
with new rivals, Netflix is confident that it will remain on top with its original
releases.
The
listing is based on the total number of subscribers that watched a TV show or a
movie for at least two minutes during their first 28 days on the platform in
2019. A Netflix spokesperson has said that the two-minute metric was used to
measure popularity because making judgments based on the completion of a program could be unfair to longer TV series or movies.
