Twitch is Gaining a Rise in Non-Gaming Live Streams

If you aren’t a gamer yourself or have no interest in the gaming culture you might be surprised to know about the influence of gaming. From youngsters to adults, there are thousands of people who love gaming and use gaming platforms regularly. One such platform is Twitch, which is a leading site for gamers who can connect with others with the same interests as themselves.

Twitch is becoming more and more popular and recently it has been noted that the game streaming platform has had a noticeable rise in non-gaming live streams so we can say that it is gradually becoming a general streaming hub.

According to Wired, "In December, Twitch viewers watched 81 million hours of “Just Chatting,” Twitch’s category for streamers who do exactly that, plus any number of other grab-bag activities. That was a solid 7 million hours more than the first game listed, League of Legends, and 23 million more than the second, Fortnite."

There are plenty of people who use live streams on Twitch to interact with others and not just for games. Meanwhile, Facebook and YouTube have also built an audience of gamers on their platforms.

As we can see that gamers are expanding their areas of interest, this trend might give a rise to live streaming in a broader range, especially streaming as a way of connecting and engaging in a diverse range of subjects.

By keeping this in mind, more platforms should consider live streaming as an option, with a large number of people getting used to it as it is becoming an attractive option to boost engagement. It is important to mention here that over 660 billion minutes of content was viewed last year by Twitch users alone.

Although Twitch appears to be a limited channel, from what we can tell things might be changing for the platform and you can hold onto the growth of gaming to improve your digital presence.

Gaming can be a huge element to grow your digital platform, this week YouTube signed three new popular gamers for connecting better with the gaming community and last year Microsoft has paired up with Ninja to bring more gamers to its platform.
