Multiple Screens helps in increasing your Productivity.
According to researches, the size of the screen does not affect your
productivity. It takes only 1.5 seconds to change multiple documents already
open on the computer. It doesn’t sound much, but when you calculate, you
already have spent lots of hours in a week by just switching between one
document and another. What if you don’t have to switch at all? What if all the
records were open on the same sight and at the same time?
How can you boost your productivity
by using multiple screens:
Switching between tabs and windows doesn’t take a lot of
time; it just takes a second, but if you try to calculate the time spent each
day, month, and year, it will be a lot more, and surely there is a more
efficient way to work.
Toggling Time:
Calculate how long does it takes to switch between one tab
or window to another. A University of Utah study found out that people working
on multiple screens were 6% quicker at getting on with the job, 7% faster at
doing the assignments, 10% more productive, and had 33% fewer errors. Multiple
Screens are 24% more comfortable to use, 45% easier to keep track of tasks, 28%
easier to focus on the functions, and 38% easier to move around the data.
Office Work:
Multiple screens help in increased productivity and ROI;
these are the keywords to keep your manager happy. Try to manage time, compare
documents at sight don’t toggle between tabs and windows. Extend long
spreadsheets between two screens and save time. Use secondary display for
emails and task lists and use the primary monitor for your main work.
Designers:
Expand your possibilities and canvas, refer to references
without toggling. Do the editing on one screen and see the outcome on the
other. Simultaneously work with multiple creative programs.
Picture and Video Editors:
Zoom in, out or around by having enough space and without
missing a pixel. Place editing material on one screen and use others for actual
editing . Use a different monitor to view images for setting colors and
resolutions. Mistakes can be prevented in the video when viewing the video in
full size before burning to Blu-ray or DVD.
Developers:
Tips for Successful Multi-screening:
Mac OS X Mavericks:
Use both monitors to view a program by going to ‘Mission
Control’ and choose whether or not programs should have separate spaces. By
creating an additional ‘Space’ in
‘Mission Control,’ tell an app which screen to open, right-click, and choose a
desired screen for the app. You can view the menu on both screens, go to
‘System preferences’ then ‘Displays.’ Change the setting in the ‘Arrangement’
tab. Both devices should be on the same local network; you can even set your
Apple TV as your second screen through AirPlay.
Windows:
Go to the upper left corner of the monitor switch to windows
eight app to any monitor, bring up the ‘App Switch List,’ and switch the app
from there. Move windows eight apps across monitors by using Win + Pg Up and
Win +Pg Down as shortcuts. In the ‘Charm’ bar, change the settings and launch
the start screen on any monitor. By selecting the ‘TaskBar Properties’, choose
show taskbar on all displays.
Multiple Screens can help you increase your productivity and
can save time. You can easily compare products side-by-side, multiple screens
is an advantage for multitasking people as it allows them to do different tasks
at the same time. Studies have proved that people are 20% more productive when
using two screens at the same time. Frank Bunker Gilbreth. Sr. said : “There is
no waste in the world that equals the waste from needless, ill-directed, and
ineffective motions.”
