Social commerce is increasingly becoming popular, thanks to
the features added on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat that has made
buying very convenient for the social
media users. And with over 2.65 billion social media users, there is a lot of
room for social commerce to leverage.
Interestingly, a recent study by BizrateInsights show that young social media users – between the age of 18 and 34
are major advocates of social commerce with nearly half of the surveyed
participants admitting to using the service in recent times.
The feature is especially popular on Instagram and Snapchat
where users can easily click on the “Shop” button to make their desired
purchases. Additionally, the social media influencers are also increasing
revenue by not only promoting products/services on their accounts but also
enabling the followers to manage their purchases and “Check out” directly from
their page.
