Regardless of the continued controversies, US president
Donald Trump manages to keep a strong foothold on America. According to a poll
by FiveThirtyEight,
nearly 50% of Americans disapprove of Trump and his candidacy. However, 42% of
the surveyed participants agreed with his policies.
Earlier in December, President Donald Trump was accused of lobbying
with the 2020 presidential elections by seeking aid from foreign. The House of
Representatives issued two articles of impeachment for President Trump that
include abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. There is also a good
chance of him being removed from office if the regulatory body finds him guilty
of crimes and misdemeanors.
Interestingly, Trump is the third U.S. president to face impeachment,
after Andrew Johnson (1868) and Bill Clinton (1998). His impeachment was opposed
by only three Democrats: Jared Golden of Maine, Collin C. Peterson of Minnesota
and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey. Jeff Van Drew was also heard saying that he is
planning to switch his political views and become a Republican in the future.
