Facebook has added some new fundraising tools to help people
and non-profit organizations spread awareness of their activities on the
platforms.
Instagram recently released stickers for stories in some
regions to help people spread awareness and raise funds for their causes. And now
Facebook has also decided to add fundraising stickers to Facebook stories.
Facebook has also introduced charity donation tools to
gaming live streams, which it has been testing for some time now.
"During a livestream, gaming creators can now select
causes for viewers to support, set donation goals, add a donation progress bar
and share donation alerts within a livestream video. Gaming creators can choose
from the full list of charities available for fundraisers in their given region
and people can donate while watching a livestream." said Facebook.
The social media platform is also developing a new feature
that will allow people to donate money to a cause of their choice.
Ever since it launched its donation tools in 2015, more than
$2 billion has been raised for donations through Facebook and now Facebook is
expecting about $7 million donations to nonprofit organizations through the ‘donate’
button on the app for Giving Tuesday 2019.
Although Facebook has been a victim of criticism since for a
long time now, but the company’s efforts to help causes and charity organizations
are worth appreciating.
