Here’s a piece of good news for all event marketers, social
media giant Instagram is testing a new feature that can help people promote
events conveniently.

Reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong, took to Twitter
to break the news that a new ‘Invite’ sticker is in the works. In the
screenshot that she posted, we get the idea that users can add the name, date,
day and location of their upcoming event. Viewers can also respond directly
from the story by tapping the ‘RSVP’ on the sticker.
This feature will allow brands to share exclusive events
with their followers on their business profiles. People can also create a list
of close friends and reach out to some specific individuals with event invites.
Another good thing about this feature is that the invites they post don’t
necessarily have to be about a physical event, it can be a webinar, a Q/A
session or any other online event.
Jane also shared a video link from two Facebook executives that tell viewers how they got the idea of the sticker.
The official launch date of this feature has not been
disclosed by Jane or Instagram yet, however, we expect it to be released in the
next few months.
