One of the most influential figures in the history of women’s football, April Heinrichs captained the USA to glory at the first FIFA Women’s World Cup in China PR in 1991 before taking the reins as the team’s head coach in 2000 and leading them to Olympic gold in 2004. She has also made a key contribution to the women’s game as US Soccer’s Technical Director for the Women’s Youth National Teams.
