According to the Poker Players Alliance, 15 million U.S. adults play online poker for real money! To date, there have been three significant, single-event winnings via online poker. The first payout occurred during the 2008 World Championship of Online Poker, in which first place title went to Yevgeniy Timoshenko. He walked away with a cash prize of $1,715,200 (from the $10,925,000 prize pool).
