A short study has uncovered the US states who suffer the most from smoking cigarettes. Do you live in a state with a lot of smokers? In some states, as many as one out of every five people smoke cigarettes, whereas in others it’s less than one out of every ten.
This research by Breazy.com highlights the disparities between communities both in the concentration of cigarette smokers and the percentage that suffers from smoking-related cancers. It’s so much more than a bad habit: The top two states that have the highest percentage of those who smoke cigarettes also have the highest percentage of those who die from smoking-related cancers.
Kentucky and West Virginia have the highest concentrations of both cigarette smokers and relevant cancer deaths. While obviously not a coincidence, neither state has taken an active role in cigarette-smoking prevention.
