Amazon hasn’t always been the online retail powerhouse it is today. Just 25 years ago, in 1994, it began as an online bookstore and since then has acquired and invested in many different companies in a variety of industries. Their diversity in products has helped them to become today’s largest Internet company by revenue.
This infographic takes a look at when these companies were added to the portfolio, and how much Amazon has grown every year since 1998. It’s timeline set-up reveals patterns and possible strategies that the company may have had in mind when making these purchases and investments throughout the years.
