Lastly, we can see how much destruction was caused by each hurricane in terms of US Dollars. Hurricane Maria, as recently as 2017, is currently the most destructive storm of the last 50 years, with winds reaching as much as 280 km/h, and causing more than $91.6 billion in damage – much of which is still being addressed today.
