In the United States, there are plenty of very wealthy billionaires. This list takes a look at the richest people from each state across the country, including whether or not they inherited the family wealth or became self-made billionaires. How exactly did all of these people get to where they are today?

Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft tops the list with a net worth of $88.9 Billion in the State of Washington. Other notable names on the list include Tom Benson, the owner of the NFL's New Orleans Saints and NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, along with Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook who boasts a net worth of $62.4 Billion.

Often times, the names on this list are those associated with recognizable companies, like eBay, Nike, Quicken Loans, Bloomberg, the Dish Network, and Walmart. However, not every name on this list is one that's recognizable by most people across the United States.
