The Academy Award is probably the most sought after prize in the film industry. To win an Oscar is to join a list of elite individuals who have reached the pinnacle of their careers in their respective area of the movie industry. Costumes in movies are critical to setting the scene and making the movie and actors believable. The people who create these costumes are a special breed of fashion designer called a costume designer. Contrary to how it might sound, these individuals don't make your typical halloween costume (although they most certainly inspire hundreds of halloween costumes each year) but they make the iconic costumes you see on the big screen in the movie theaters!
