There are plenty more prizes given out in some obscure and less well-known categories such as set design, sound design, best adapted screenplay, and of course, the subject of this writing: costume design. Costumes in movies are critical to setting the scene and making the movie and actors believable. The people who create these costumes are a special breed of fashion designer called a costume designer. Contrary to how it might sound, these individuals don't make your typical halloween costume (although they most certainly inspire hundreds of halloween costumes each year) but they make the iconic costumes you see on the big screen in the movie theaters!
