Women often have a hard time getting ahead in the business world. So far things like fair pay practices and paid parental leave policies have been slow to happen, and whenever they do they are often met with resistance. Women need to push forward without these policies in order to be successful in the business world, and hopefully society will eventually catch up.

Writing down your goals can help keep you accountable, while taking time for yourself can help prevent you from wearing yourself down in the pursuit of your career. Maya Angelou once said, “I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass.” Start by building good habits and overcoming adversity in building your own career, and then lift up the women coming behind you. It may not be a perfect strategy but it’s a start.
