VR-based training in disaster preparedness has been increasingly recognized as an important and novel alternative to real-life drills and tabletop exercises. The department of Homeland Security is exploring the use of virtual reality based training in efforts to help make sure that responders are as prepared as possible for a multitude of potential disasters.
