In 1939 Great Britain was preparing for war. Their plan for the very likely even of foreign invasion? A series of posters that told Britons simply to ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’. Perhaps nothing that more aptly captures the British spirit has ever been printed. In the year 2000 one of the few remaining copies was unearthed in a bookshop, and reprinting began. Before long the piece was a national sensation.
