Throughout history, human civilizations spanning the globe have worshiped the Sun, subsequently developing various religious and cultural beliefs surrounding it. Not only do some worship the Sun directly, but others turn to a variety of solar gods and goddess to offer their thanks. The infographic below, created by the Solar Center, looks at a number of solar deities; from Helios, the ancient Greek Sun God to Huitzilopochtl, the fearsome God of Sun and War, worshiped by the Aztecs.
