There are so many crazy laws in the United States that have been on the books for years and years that just seem like total head scratchers. Like in Iowa a one-armed piano player must, by law, perform for free. It makes you wonder how laws like these ever came to be and even more importantly, who would take the time to make sure a law like this was enacted?

The faculty at the criminal justice program at Olivet Nazarene University put together an infographic that listed the craziest laws in each state. People were so intrigued by these laws that many were left wondering how exactly these crazy laws came to be. Because of this Olivet created a follow up infographic that dove into greater detail about how these laws came to be and the story behind them. To learn more, check out the infographic below.
