According to a 2011 study by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, white drivers were considerably less likely to be pulled over and searched by the police than their black and hispanic counterparts. Though police only use force 1.2% of the time, almost 75% of drivers surveyed said they thought force was not necessary. Police are also 2% less likely to ticket a female driver than a male driver.
