How Artsy is your State? #infographic

The amount of artists and artistic work in the United States is staggering. But what exactly defines art? The definition of art can encompass many mediums. Artist Frame Service set out to determine which states are the artsiest by looking at three data sets: the projected state funding for arts per capita for each state, the number of professional artists per capita and the quantity of museums per capita of each state.

They then developed a map that shows the ranking of each state and shaded each state to show how artsy it is. There is also a breakdown of the 10 most and 10 least artsy states as well. Overall they found that the Northeast tends to be winning in the art department while the Southwest part of the country has some catching up to do.
