There’s lots to see at Buckingham Palace. Who would have thought that, at one point in time, a home (albeit a huge one) on the junction between Birdcage Walk, Constitution Hill, and The Mall would be the space of one of the world’s superpowers? And though Buckingham Palace does not have the sort of power it once did during the 19th Century, it certainly does have some sort of power. After all, if Buckingham Palace didn’t have some sort of pull, would so many people come to visit it every year. Hundreds, if not thousands, pay for tickets to tour Buckingham Palace, and many more take a walk around Victoria to see the opulence of the home for themselves - regardless of whether not a special, one-off Royal event is happening or not. Buckingham Palace has a rich and full history, one that stretches back much further than one might first imagine (Buckingham Palace was originally “Buckingham House” in 1703, and its history stretches back further than that). Read on to find out more about this fascinating building.
