With 2016 having just arrived, and with the US dollar looking better than it has in years, we set out to answer the question: where exactly are the best places to travel this year? The following infographic documents our picks for the five best countries to spend your USD in 2016. We also wanted to highlight an interesting thing that you can do in each country, which you'll see in the "cultural curiosity" section for each country. We were surprised to discover that Japan is not nearly as expensive as everyone thinks it is, and that the dollar is experiencing near-parity with the euro. Moscow has also become a surprisingly affordable city over the past year. There has definitely never been a better time than now to chase rabbits on Japan's Rabbit Island, sip Tuscan wine in Italy, or check out the 2016 World Masters Games in New Zealand- so go do it!
