We all love to moan about the costs of living, petrol prices going up, paying a fortune in rent, and when you try to go out and drown these sorrows, you’re then reminded that even a pint of beer will cost you an arm and a leg. Over the last fifty years, the cost of living has increased significantly, but who can remember the days when you could buy a pint for just 5p? Or plan an entire wedding with only £70? Christmas is coming and, as a result, we’re all beginning to notice those extra price hikes, making it harder and harder to save those much needed pennies. So with that in mind, we decided to take a look at how the prices of everyday items have increased throughout the years. From petrol prices to cinema tickets, we’re sure you’ll be shocked to find out how much cheaper life was fifty years ago!
