Heroin and Opiate Painkillers have become a massive thorn in the side of American families everywhere. In the past 5 years, usage and death rates have SOARED for heroin as they have more than quadrupled. In the US, Opiate related deaths (heroin and painkillers) outweigh that of Homicide. Drug overdoses alone account for 46,471 deaths per year - higher than Suicides, Car Accidents and Gun related deaths. Knowing this information, we continue to prescribe these drugs at an alarming rate. In 2014, doctors in the United States prescribed over 259 million opiate painkillers to their patients.
