What size do you think the Internet is? With nearly 1 billion websites online right now, the Internet is predicted to be 1 yottabyte. That's 1 quadrillion gigabytes if you didn't already know. To put this into context, this infographic shows the size of the Internet in terms of digital storage devices, which have been used since 1976, ranging from floppy disks to SD flash drives. If you stacked 1 yottabyte worth of floppy disks on top of each other they would go past the moon, the sun and even past Mars.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realise what a colossal amount of space that takes up! In fact, 1 yottabyte reaches 122x further than the Voyager spaceship has travelled.
