HSE Fatal Injury Statistics 2014/15
The UK Health and Safety Executive have unveiled their 2014/15 annual statistics on the amount of fatalities recorded in the place of work. Per 100,000 employees, there were 0.46 fatalities. For the past 5 years the figure of 142 employee deaths in 14/15 is nine percent less than the average of 156. The 5-year average rate of 0.53 compares to the latest rate of fatal injury of 0.46.

The visualization begins by informing you of the number of members of the public vs workplace employees who perished in 14/15. It goes on to clearly show that the safest industries are mining and the utilities industries. Fatal injuries have been on the decrease ever since the 1990’s and, therefore, the United Kingdom remains among the least dangerous countries to work in the entire world. London and Wales are relatively safe regions to live and work with only 9 deaths each while Northumberland continues to be safest placearea to work in the UK with only 1 fatality.
