A "Megaproject" is a construction project that costs over 1 billion dollars. These projects cover everything from large buildings (such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building in the world which famously featured in Mission: Impossible 4) to huge transport projects (like the current CrossRail project in London, which will speed up commutes).

MegaProjects take a huge amount of organisation and planning, and many headaches for project managers as costs soar and deadlines are pushed to the limit. This infographic looks at some of the most impressive MegaProjects across the world, from the incredible containment shield over Chernobyl to the Channel Tunnel.
