This infographic given to us by the University of Maryland’s business school (onlinemba) shows the path we can and should take to be able to achieve workplace success.
Although you can still obtain managerial positions without a college education, it is much more difficult. Earning a college degree will help you to have the best chances of getting the job you want. On top of a college education, most high-level executives gain several years of work experience in lower-level managerial positions. Along with work experience, it’s important to outdo your peers by dressing a notch above your peers, becoming an expert in your niche, putting in overtime, networking, participating in ongoing training, and making a career plan for future success.
It’s also a good idea to continue with your education whether it be company training programs, earning a master’s degree (specifically an MBA), or getting certified in your specific field. All of these steps will lead to your future success.
