If you’re one of those students struggling to understand where all your money goes and why after paying for fees, books and other essentials, you've got no cash left to go for a beer or buy the latest shade-craze in nail polish, we've made it easier for you by presenting a pictorial form of a typical student’s expenditure. We've described the main areas of expenditure and identified how much of your income goes to paying for them. Use the data and apply it to your own situation – with it and knowledge of your own expenses you can build a budget. But don’t just build a budget – you have to stick to it to. Identify holes in your finances and have a plan to plug them. It’s unlikely you will leave college without any debt but working to a budget will minimize your deficit.
