The Consumer Price Index, used to determine the difference in the living costs between countries takes into account the prices of groceries, transportation, restaurants and utilities. The United States is listed in neither the top 15 or the bottom 15 countries as it relates to living costs. The infographic below displays the cheapest and most expensive places to live in out of 119 countries in comparison with prices found in New York. Check out the infographic.
