Sometimes Tolkien’s descriptions can be a little hard to follow, especially in a battle scene that includes five separate armies! To help you out – and in honor of the new Hobbit movie – we put together this infographic telling you everything you need to know. This is an interactive map that serves as a guide for the finale of the Hobbit trilogy. The Battle of Five Armies includes just that, and in our guide, we explain what each of the armies is, as well as their strengths in battle. After that, our interactive map charts the step-by-step strategy of each group, such as the path they took on the mountain, the ins and outs of what went on that day, and, of course, the final outcome.
