E-cigarettes are very dangerous to teens for various reasons. Not only do they entice adolescents with the illusion of blowing smoke like traditional cigarettes, they contain multiple chemicals. These vapor-filled contraptions contain food preservatives and artificial flavors. They also contain nicotine. This chemical is dangerous to the health of users. It’s also a very addictive substance responsible for making it hard for most regular cigarettes smokers to quit for good. And, because they come in candy flavors, youth are drawn to them.
Nicotine causes adolescent brains to develop abnormally. Back in 1971, to protect the youth, TV ads for cigarettes were banned in the US. But, this now $3 billion industry has found a way around that rule, luring in more young users each year. According to the CDC, 1.78 million youth are currently e-cigarette users. As a parent, you need to nip this problem in the bud before it hits your home.
