Loratadine is considered as one of the best antihistamine drugs that lower the effects of naturally occurring chemical in the body – histamine. Excessive secretion of histamine is responsible for allergic symptoms, such as sneezing, runny and stuffy nose, nasal congestion, watery and itchy eyes, and skin rashes (urticaria). Basically, physicians prescribe Loratadine 10 mg for adults to treat allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Loratadine is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating allergic reactions. Allergy is the exaggerated response of hypersensitive immune system to certain allergens, such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, sudden climatic changes, certain foods, etc.
