Medical studies have shown a strong link between a lack of sleep and health problems or cognitive impairment. The most commonly recommended amount of sleep for adults is seven to nine hours. For years, the percentage of people who get enough sleep has been shrinking, with more and more adults not getting the sleep their bodies and minds need to be healthy.
