Rainforests are crucial for the world’s climate. Not only do they help stabilize it by absorbing carbon dioxide, they are also important for maintaining the word’s water cycle. Rainforests provide a home to many plant and animal species and an incredible 685 of all known plant species can be found in the rainforests across the globe. Unfortunately, we have seen a massive decrease over the last decades and the speed at which rainforests are disappearing is worrying.
This is why it gets ever more important to protect our rainforests and ensure that we keep the decrease at a minimum or ideally completely prevent them from disappearing. At the moment, Brazil is the country that loses the most, followed by Indonesia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Myanmar.
Oak Furniture UK has created this infographic to show what people can do to protect the world’s rainforests. It is also a great resource for schools to teach children about how they can do to help.
