What's going On?
Most museums have
a special exhibition or event going on at any given time. A simple look
at their website will let you know. Many museums may also offer free or
discounted nights, which usually attract large amount of people, making
your date a little crowded.
Do Some Research
Is your date an
art aficionado? If you're not an expert, learning about a few styles and
artists can go a long way and make you look smart. Bonus: If you are an
expert, don't act like a know-it-all!
Plan The Time And Know What You Want To Do
You
can expect to spend about an hour and a half roaming around the average
museum. Make sure the museum is big enough or your date will be over in
20 minutes. If you want your date to last longer, consider scouting
bars, restaurants or other places to go afterward.
Don't Be Rude
Everyone hates that
person who talks on their phone during a movie. Don't be that person in
the museum or your date will be embarrassed. Shut off or silence your
cell phone. Don't bring a box of jelly donuts and touch everything, and
remember that photography is not permitted in most museums.
Be Unexpected
If you want the date
to be memorable, excuse yourself for a moment and check out the gift
shop. Acute teddy bear or even a postcard of their favorite piece of
artwork show a kind and thoughtful gesture.
Don't Rush
Spend some time getting
to know each other and asking questions about the artwork. Make it
interesting; don't just walk through and leave.
