In this current age of technology and industrialization, changes to the Earth are happening rapidly and unfortunately these changes have had a hugely negative effect on not only the environment but also the other living things we share this planet with – the animals.
Various species of animals have been going extinct for thousands of years, but we have seen a rapid increase in numbers over the past hundred years thanks to the destruction that human activity has brought to the animals’ habitats and to our planet as a whole. One sad example is the Golden Toad, which went extinct in 1989 and was determined to have been the first species to suffer this fate due to the effects of climate change.
