This is because rubber exhibits many unique properties such as a high level of protection, flexibility and shock absorption. And in the theatre of war, where the slightest problem could have life threatening consequences, having a reliable material that they can count on is of paramount importance to the military.
From simple things such as providing storage for weapons, right up to floating anti-terrorism barriers that protect harbours from seaborne attacks, it’s quite surprising when you see exactly how widespread the use of rubber is in the military and just how innovative the technology being used by the armed forces is in general.
